The Split: If a players first two cards has the same value, s/he can double the bets and split these and then play two separate hands. The Split is allowed a number of times. Once a player splits two aces, s/he only gets one more card on each. If s/he then gets one more card on each, it’s 21, not blackjack!
Insurance and even money: Once the player realises that the dealer’s first card is an ace, then the player can insure himself/ herself in case the dealer gets a blackjack.
