The Project
Buffalo Creek Casino’s dining options are distinctive in their local flavor. The new 50-seat Stixx Sports Bar design is inspired by Buffalo’s regional love of hockey, the proximity to the First Niagara Center and the Nation’s cultural tie to the sport of lacrosse. Focused in the center of the casino floor the venue comes alive with a 360-degree sculpture of Baltic Birch plywood sticks, an abstract version of hockey sticks. Mirrors behind the bar are backlit to resemble ice, continuing the hockey-inspired design scheme. The latest expansion adds a performance stage for live entertainment at the Stixx Sports Bar.
The WD Bar & Grille is modeled after the popular Western Door Steakhouse, which operates at both Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls and Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca. The Western Door is regularly regarded as one of the finest steakhouses in the region. The new WD Bar & Grille builds on the established Western Door brand and provides the same high-quality dining experience in a more casual setting incorporated into Buffalo’s Inner Harbor entertainment district. Its west-facing profile offers patrons beautiful views of the setting sun and a buffer from Lake Erie’s prevailing winds by use of a large glass windscreen. Opened in 2007, the name Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino refers to the Seneca Nation of Indians’ original Buffalo Creek Territory, which occupied lands surrounding the current nine-acre casino site. To help encourage the growth and development of the surrounding neighborhoods, the Seneca Nation and Seneca Gaming Corporation recently established a $1 million fund to support beautification and community revitalization projects in the area surrounding the casino.
